LABUAN: One of the six nominated seats in the Sabah Legislative Assembly should have been reserved for Labuan and with good justification, said Fauziah Datuk Din, daughter of former veteran politician during Berjaya rule, Datuk Din Jaffar.
“Labuan though a Federal Territory for over 40 years (since 1984) is still very much economically, socially and culturally connected with Sabah than the peninsula.
“Having a Labuan representative in the assembly would see Labuan-Sabah ties further strengthened. The island would also have an effective channel related to Labuan-Sabah issues,” she said.
Fauziah said there were several thousand Sabah-registered voters besides thousands more living and working here.
