TAWAU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to honouring Sabah’s 40 per cent net revenue entitlement, describing it as a long-overdue right that must be delivered.
He told a crowd in Merotai that his administration is the first to make a clear and formal declaration to implement the entitlement despite past criticism and political doubt.
Anwar said Pakatan Harapan’s participation in PRN17 is aimed at strengthening Sabah–Federal cooperation, particularly to ensure proper governance over road projects, utilities and development programmes.
He also highlighted ongoing reforms including the historic handover of electricity regulatory powers to Sabah, the RM10 billion Pan Borneo allocation, new education facilities, and efforts to resolve the state’s water issues by 2026.
Anwar urged Sabahans to choose trustworthy leaders on Nov 29, saying integrity and a clean record were essential to safeguarding the people’s interests and strengthening the state’s ties with Putrajaya.
