TUARAN: Caretaker Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said strong ties between the State and Federal Governments remain crucial for Sabah’s future as both levels of government can deliver more when working closely together.
He shared that Sabah’s involvement in recent negotiations with Indonesia, including a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta, reflected the trust shown by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in bringing state leaders into national matters.

Hajiji said the gesture was unprecedented and showed how constructive federal-state cooperation benefits Sabah, particularly on issues such as borders and shared economic interests.
He urged voters to retain the previous GRS-PH state government in the 17th Sabah Election this Saturday, saying the coalition had governed responsibly for five years under the Sabah Maju Jaya development plan.
Hajiji, who is defending Sulaman, expressed confidence that GRS will secure all four Tuaran seats - Sulaman, Tamparuli, Kiulu and Pantai Dalit, and thanked the Prime Minister for visiting the district to rally support ahead of polling day.
He made these remarks during a meet-the-people session here on Thursday.
