Rain expected on voting day
MetMalaysia has advised voters and the public to monitor the latest weather updates and take precautions, particularly in districts at risk of thunderstorms. - Bernama pic for illustration only.
Kota Kinabalu: Voters in Sabah are advised to plan ahead, as most districts are forecast to experience rainy weather on polling day for the General Election this Saturday, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said.

Continuous rain is expected in the morning and afternoon across the majority of areas, including Kota Marudu, Beluran, Sandakan, Kinabatangan, Lahad Datu, Tawau, Semporna, Kunak and Kalabakan.

In western Sabah, several areas such as Kota Belud, Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu, Putatan, Penampang and Papar are forecast to experience rain in the morning, continuing into the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Pitas, Paitan, Ranau and Telupid are expected to experience morning thunderstorms, turning to rain in the afternoon.

Other districts, including Keningau, Tambunan, Sook, Beaufort, Membakut, Kuala Penyu, Sipitang and Tenom, are forecast to have rain throughout the day.

Voters are also encouraged to leave early to avoid congestion and ensure the voting process proceeds smoothly despite the unpredictable weather.
