SEMPORNA: A search and rescue (SAR) operation has been mounted for a 36-year-old who went missing while fishing off Pulau Bum-Bum waters on Wednesday.
The man, identified as Lagete Gildik, reportedly went missing at 7.15pm.
The State Fire and Rescue Department, after being informed of it by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) at 9am Thursday, mounted a SAR operation involving a seven-member team from BBP Air Semporna, accompanied by MMEA, Civil Defence Force and police personnel.
The operation was temporarily suspended at 5pm and will resume this (Friday) morning.
