TAWAU: GRS Kukusan candidate Samsiah Usman said women’s capacity to manage communities should not be underestimated, as leadership is no longer confined to men.
She said she hopes to prove that she can be a dependable representative who brings local issues to higher levels for serious consideration.
Samsiah, who met villagers in the Airport Lama and Jalan Utara Baru area on Wednesday, said women often show firmness in leadership despite assumptions that they are weaker.
She added that her family, especially her husband, has been supportive throughout the campaign, allowing her to balance community work with her responsibilities at home.
Samsiah acknowledged the challenge of facing experienced opponents but believes GRS remains in a strong position as voters increasingly expect serious solutions to issues such as water, electricity and road conditions.
