Kota Kinabalu: Lydia Lisa Edward has been named chairperson of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) Sabah Branch’s Women Engineers (WE) Section.
Lydia is Head of Regional Sales Sabah at TM Global.

The 2024–2026 committee outlined a range of activities carried out during the term spanning technical engagement, community outreach, and sports and recreational programmes, all aimed at strengthening professional development and member cohesion.
Technical talks and site visits were among the highlights, offering members practical insights and knowledge-sharing opportunities within the broader engineering community.
The section also took an active role in organising the 15th Inter-Professional Bodies Games 2025 (Futsal) and contributed to major IEM Sabah events, including the IEM Sabah 50th Golden Jubilee Dinner and the 42nd Conference of the Asean Federation of Engineering Organisations (CAFEO 42).
Members assisted with sponsorship coordination, protocol management, and event logistics.
The meeting concluded with members reaffirming their commitment to advancing the role of women in engineering and supporting professional growth within Sabah’s engineering community.
