KENINGAU: A total of 27 are contesting in three state seats - Tambunan, Bingkor and Liawan.
For Tambunan, the incumbent and Star President Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan is facing a seven-cornered contest from Bianus Kontong (Warisan), Jikol Tagua (KDM), Kenneth Edwin N (PIS), Datuk Victor P. Paut (GRS), Dionysia Ginsos, the only female candidate contesting, from Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri (Anak Negeri), and Gulit Rukag (SPP).
In Bingkor, it is a 10-cornered contest featuring Hartady Antutu (GAS), Benedict Martin Gunir (Warisan), Rafie Robert (GRS), Kenolee Justine (PIS), Niklos Ongoh (KDM), Ahamin Salim (Independent), Datuk Mohd Ishak Ayub (Star) and Solzah Sual (SPP), while two "old faces" are Kennedy John Angian (Upko) and Thomas Anggan (PKS).
The incumbent, Datuk Robert Tawik, is staying out due to health reasons and is replaced by eldest son, Rafie, on the GRS banner.
In Liawan, incumbent Datuk Annuar Ayub @ Banand is facing nine other candidates. Annuar who contested on the GRS ticket is facing Datuk Nik Nadzri Nik Zawawi (BN), Yukilin Giging (Rumpun Sabah), Peter Paun (KDM), Wilson Gan (Upko), Johny Anthony (PN), Adzhar Bin Jasni @ Eddy (Warisan), Mustazarmie Bin Mustapha (PPRS), Augustine A. Nain (Star) and Junadey Bin Ejih @ Egih (PIS).
