Kota Kinabalu: Dionysia Ginsos, a candidate from the Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri (Anak Negeri), has suggested organising an open stage event for public speeches among the candidates contesting for the Tambunan seat in the 17th Sabah Election.
“All party representatives can contact me to arrange a mutually agreed time and date,” she stated in her latest social media post, following her attendance at the state election briefing on Friday.
Among the figures already announced as candidates by their respective parties for the Tambunan seat are Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan representing Star and Datuk Victor P Paut, the candidate for the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS).
She said the coming open speech event should focus on the mission and vision of all new candidates running, as well as the leaders who have previously served as representatives for Tambunan.
“This open speech is primarily aimed at informing the public about the manifesto, policies and principles of each contesting party, providing explanations to the people of Tambunan,” she said.
Dionysia expressed confidence that this initiative would give the public an opportunity to hear and evaluate the policies being presented.
“It also allows the people of Tambunan, especially young voters, to examine the visions and missions of the candidates, rather than merely turning the political debate into a platform for empty promises or unrealistic pledges (Janji Tarang Bulan).
“Such an open stage event has never been held in Tambunan before; why not make it happen this time?” she said, adding the proposed open state campaign was in line with the principle of democracy.
Dionysia, who is contesting in Tambunan under the banner of the Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri with the slogan, “Power in the hands of the people of Tambunan – Our Voice, Our future”, invited all citizens of Tambunan, especially the youth, to embrace change.
