Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Barisan Nasional (BN) has unveiled its latest digital initiative, the AI Chatbot BN Sabah, aimed at introducing its candidates and providing verified information ahead of the 17th Sabah State General Election.
The chatbot was launched by BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as part of the coalition’s efforts to engage with younger voters and modernise its communication approach in the digital era.
According to Sabah BN, the AI-powered platform allows the public, particularly first-time and young voters, to learn more about BN’s candidates, their backgrounds, campaign activities, and the coalition’s policies and principles in Sabah.
Beyond introducing candidates, the chatbot also serves as a tool to curb the spread of misinformation and fake news on social media during the election period.
By providing accurate and verified updates directly to users, it aims to ensure that voters receive factual information from official sources.

Designed to be user-friendly and interactive, it offers an engaging experience for voters who wish to know more about the party and its representatives.
Zahid said the initiative reflects BN’s commitment to adapting to changing times and connecting with the aspirations of the younger generation.
“This shows that BN is not just a party with history, but one that continues to move in step with technological progress and the people’s aspirations,” he said.
The AI Chatbot BN Sabah will go live on Nov 12, coinciding with the main phase of the state election campaign.
