KOTA KINABALU: Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri (Anak Negeri) has nominated female economist Dionysia Ginsos as its candidate for the Tambunan seat in the Nov 29 state election.
Dionysia, 33, a native of Kinabaan, Tambunan, is expected to go head-to-head with Star President Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, 78, who is widely anticipated to defend the seat.
Her candidacy was confirmed by Anak Negeri President Datuk Henrynus Amin.
A graduate of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) with a Bachelor’s degree in Development Economics and Planning, Dionysia also holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
Expressing gratitude to the party leadership for their trust, Dionysia said she was honoured to be given the chance to represent Aanak Negeri in the coming polls.
While acknowledging that she is viewed as the underdog, she said it would not dampen her determination to win the support of the people of Tambunan, particularly the younger generation.
“Nothing is impossible in politics. Like bird’s eye chili, small but strong, the journey to fight for what is necessary may not be easy, but it is never impossible,” she said.
“What matters most is confidence and effort; what once seemed impossible can become a reality,” she said.
Dionysia urged the people of Tambunan to rise and bravely push for change towards a brighter future when they go to the polls on Nov 29.
