Kota Kinabalu: The public are invited to join the Agri Commodity & Agro Madani Fair on Nov 7 at the compound of Dewan Golden Hotel, Sembulan, from 8.30am to 4pm.
Organised by the Plantation and Commodities Ministry in collaboration with various government agencies under the Madani Government, the event aims to enhance public understanding of the agri-commodity sector while encouraging community participation in activities that boost the local economy.
The programme will be officiated by Deputy Plantation and Commodities Minister Datuk Chan Foong Hin, who will join visitors in exploring a range of commodity and agro-based activities throughout the day.
Among the highlights is a Used Cooking Oil (UCO) Awareness Talk, designed to educate the public on sustainable waste oil management to protect the environment while offering opportunities for extra income.
A Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) briefing will also be held to outline the direction, certification structure, and career prospects within technical and skilled sectors — particularly in the plantation and commodities industries.
For job seekers, a career corner in the palm oil sector will showcase employment opportunities in a field known for stability, good income potential, and its contribution to national growth.
Adding to the excitement, the Agro Madani Sale, organised in collaboration with Fama, will offer fresh produce and local products at affordable prices—with visitors able to purchase vegetables, fish, and fruits for as little as RM10.
As a bonus, free cooking oil will be distributed to attendees while stocks last.
The event is supported by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), Malaysian Cocoa Board (MCB), Malaysian Pepper Board (MPB), Malaysian Plantation and Commodity Institute (Impac), Agrobank, Health Ministry, Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), and Arus Oil as strategic partners.
The programme underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to strengthen the agri-commodity sector, promote sustainability awareness, and create career and entrepreneurship opportunities for the people of Sabah — aligned with the Madani Government’s aspirations.
