LAHAD DATU: The Information Department (Japen) and nine Madani Communities in Lahad Datu have been urged to remain as key government communication partners to ensure important information reaches the public clearly.
Lahad Datu District Officer Firuz Idzualdeen Mohd Dzul said the Madani Community serves as a platform that connects citizens to current developments through better understanding and accurate information.
He said through programmes such as the Madani Community Programme, residents are able to gain clear explanations about the Madani Budget and government assistance such as the Rahmah Cash Contribution (STR), Sara, and Budi Madani Ron95.
Firuz added that such initiatives also ensure that no community members are left out from receiving government aid.
“I hope the Madani community continues to be a bridge between government policies and the people at the grassroots level,” he said when officiating the “Cerita Dulu Bah” Madani Community Programme at Kampung Sabah Baru 2.
Meanwhile, Sabah Information Department Deputy Director Azman Sipan said the establishment of Madani Communities in Lahad Datu supports JaPen’s efforts to expand information dissemination while encouraging volunteerism.
About 250 residents took part in the event, which featured rice donations to eligible recipients, performances by Sabah Japen’s Pentarama artistes, and a personal contribution from Kampung Cocos Madani Community chief Romansa in support of the programme.
