SANDAKAN: Lorry operators here have been reminded to continue to obey road regulations.
To this end, Sabah Commercial Vehicle Licensing Board (CVLB) chairman Datuk Chin Kim Hiung said the Board and enforcement agencies like the police and the Road Transport Department (RTD) will consistently monitor the situation on the field.
“This is also to ensure that the existing regulations are always complied with not only by truck operators but also by other commercial vehicle operators,” he said after receiving a courtesy call from the Sandakan Hired Lorry Transport Association at the Sandakan CVLB meeting room, here, Tuesday.
The delegation from the Association was led by its chairman Steven Chua.
Also present was Sandakan CVLB Head Rafidah Abdullah.
Meanwhile, Chua has proposed for the simplification of the permit and truck license application process as currently “it is quite complicated”.
He also proposed for the control of movement of lorries and containers between Sabah, Sarawak and Brunei Darussalam to be tightened to safeguard the interests of lorry drivers in Sabah.
