KUNAK: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight attendant Rachel Justin, 28, was crowned Unduk Ngadau during the Kunak District-level Pesta Kaamatan celebration held on Sunday.
Rachel took home RM5,000 in cash, a certificate of participation, a trophy and a bouquet of flowers following her victory in the annual cultural pageant.

First runner-up Erviyanna Rekha Neseter, 23, received RM2,000 in cash, a certificate and a trophy, while second runner-up Alexie Joey Alphonsus, 18, won RM1,500 in cash together with a certificate and bouquet of flowers.
Three other finalists – Avila Eve Jusilin, 22, Miccy Clara Isabell Masri, 20, and Angelie Vichelle Jupiri, 18 – also received cash prizes, trophies, bouquets and certificates of participation.
The event was officiated by Assistant Minister of Youth Development, Sports and Creative Economy cum Kunak Assemblyman Dato Sri Anil Sandhu.
“Pesta Kaamatan, celebrated every May, is a symbol of thanksgiving for the harvest while also reflecting the richness of Sabah’s cultural heritage and customs.
“This celebration also serves as an important platform to strengthen unity and the spirit of togetherness among the multiracial community,” he said.
Also present were Kunak District Officer Majaran Osman and Kunak District Police Chief Supt Rejali Ak Angong.
