Kota Kinabalu: Liane Melve Grace Lias emerged champion of the 2026 Kota Kinabalu City Unduk Ngadau final after defeating 14 other contestants at the event held here on Sunday.
Liane took home RM12,000 in cash, along with a crown, trophy and bouquet of flowers. She will also represent Kota Kinabalu City at the State-level Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan final at Hongkod Koisaan KDCA in Penampang on May 31.

In the KDCA special category, Joyce Nia David was crowned Unduk Ngadau KDCA Tanjung Aru as first runner-up, receiving RM10,000 in cash, a tiara, trophy and bouquet of flowers.
Third place went to Felecity Chen Sing Yee under the title Unduk Ngadau KDCA Bandaraya, winning RM8,000 in cash together with a tiara, trophy and bouquet of flowers.
Sharlene Adelaide Alexandra finished fourth, followed by Nicole Lynn Maurice in fifth, Jacqueency Jwen John in sixth and Divya Flavia Chai in seventh. All received cash prizes and gifts.
The event also featured appearances by the 2025 Kota Kinabalu City Unduk Ngadau winners — Evanatie Sannie, Cherub Sharleena Cassdey and Nelmui Muhari.
Eight consolation prize winners received RM1,000 each, presented by Asian Pac Holdings Berhad general manager Kevin Loh.
Present were Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, Deputy Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Chan Foong Hin and Kota Kinabalu Mayor Datuk Seri Dr Sabin Samitah.
