Suspicious vehicle leads police to cable theft, drug haul

PAPAR: A suspicious Perodua Axia led police to the seizure of items suspected to be linked to cable theft and drug activities during a patrol along the Pan Borneo Highway near Kampung Mook, Kinarut, on Tuesday.

In a statement, police said the vehicle was spotted in suspicious circumstances before the driver allegedly abandoned it and fled into nearby bushes.

Checks on the vehicle uncovered several items suspected of being linked to housebreaking and cable theft, including copper cables, a cutting machine, a chain block, and wire cutters.

Police also found substances believed to be syabu and seized a mobile phone believed to belong to the suspect.
