Kota Kinabalu: Eight people were injured in a three-vehicle road accident along Jalan UMS near Kampung Delima Sulaman, here, Saturday.
The accident involved a Toyota Fortuner, a Proton Saga and a Proton Exora.
Among the eight victims were two children and three women, all from the Proton Exora, along with one male victim each from the Toyota Fortuner and the Proton Saga.
Eleven personnel from the Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Station responded to the emergency call, which came in at 5.29pm.
The team arrived at the scene at 5.50pm, covering a distance of 20 kilometres.
All eight victims were subsequently transported to hospital for further treatment using EMRS units, Health Ministry ambulances and Civil Defence Force ambulances.
The operation was declared fully controlled at 6.53pm after authorities confirmed no further hazards remained at the scene.
