Man electrocuted on rooftop

Kota Kinabalu: A man died after he was believed to have been electrocuted while on the rooftop of a building at Sepanggar Seafood Village Restaurant in Karambunai, Saturday.

The Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 2.16pm through the MERS999 line. A team of 10 personnel from the Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Station was deployed to the scene, located about 33km away.

The department said the operation involved a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle. Operations Commander PBK I Christy Foo said the victim, whose identity has yet to be established, was found on the rooftop after reportedly suffering an electric shock.

Firefighters then carried out operations to bring the victim down using a stretcher.
