Kuala Lumpur: The sight of elderly workers continuing in gig economy jobs has sparked online discussion on ageing, resilience and rising living costs.

A Threads post went viral after sharing an experience with a Grab driver, identified as “Jasni Anuar”, whom the user described as an elderly man still actively earning a living.

The user said they rarely use ride-hailing services as they usually drive themselves, but were impressed by the driver’s friendliness and professionalism throughout the journey.

The post praised the driver’s polite nature and conversation, while encouraging others to give him a 5-star rating and wishing him good health and prosperity.
