Drug ring crippled  in Lahad Datu raids
LAHAD DATU: The Police believed they have crippled a drug network with the arrests of two foreigners and seizure of drugs in two separate raids on Wednesday.

District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner of Police Dzulbaharin Ismail said, in the first raid, Police from the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division arrested a 45-year-old Indonesian man and discovered 0.21 grams of drugs in his possession along with drug abuse tools.

The suspect who was tested positive for taking drugs was taken in for investigation under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.

“The result of interrogation led to the second arrest on the same day at Kampung Puyut. The raid led to the arrest of a 37-year-old Filipino man.

“The undocumented man was found having 7.12 grams of drugs believed to be Syabu in his possession,” he said, adding that the suspect was also tested positive for drug abuse.

According to Dzulbaharin, the case would be investigated under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952 for drug possession and drug trafficking.
