LAHAD DATU: A section of Jalan Lahad Datu-Kunak near Silam collapsed on Friday afternoon, bringing traffic between Lahad Datu and Kunak to a standstill.
Road users also shared photographs of the damaged stretch with Daily Express following the incident.
A Kunak resident, Abdul Lahil Sarail, who was travelling to Lahad Datu, said vehicles were stranded in both directions due to the road collapse in the area.
“No vehicles can pass through at the moment,” he said, adding that Pan Borneo contractor machinery was seen attempting to build a temporary route near the affected location.
Traffic police were also at the scene to monitor the situation, while the cause of the collapse has yet to be determined.
