Man held over drugs in Beaufort
BEAUFORT: A man was arrested after police seized suspected syabu weighing about 0.69 grammes in an operation conducted by the Beaufort district police headquarters together with the Weston police station.

District police chief Champin Piuh confirmed the arrest on Friday.

He said the suspect was detained under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 to assist in further investigations.

Police said continuous efforts are being intensified to curb drug abuse and trafficking, particularly involving syabu.

“Beaufort police will not compromise with any form of drug abuse activities,” he said.
