SANDAKAN: Proposed long-term structured housing development requires careful assessment and multi-agency coordination before implementation, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said the matter was discussed with Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, stressing that the project must first be planned at district and state levels.

Anwar said collaboration with the Federal Government would involve several key ministries, including the Ministry of Housing and Local Government.

He said the project is large and requires detailed planning, and while it should be expedited, it must not be rushed without considering state needs, priorities and established development strategies.

He urged all parties to remain patient as comprehensive discussions and planning are carried out, assuring that the process would not delay the implementation of other future projects.
