Kota Kinabalu: Sabah para badminton shuttlers excelled at the Allianz-MSN National Para Badminton Circuit 1 2026, which concluded on Sunday at the MSN Setiawangsa Complex in Kuala Lumpur by taking home five gold, four silver and three bronze medals.
Leading the charge was Mohamad Faris Ahmad Azri, who clinched three gold medals. He triumphed in the men’s singles (SU5) and teamed up with Mohd Asrun Mahadi to secure gold in the men’s doubles (SL3/SU5) and added the third in the mixed doubles (SL3/SL5) alongside Juliana Kamal.
The other golds came from Gladys Grace Didin/Charlie Fred Sagunting in the mixed doubles (SH6). Charlie also won the men’s doubles (SH6) title partnering Naim Ahmad Halmi from Kedah.
The silvers were contributed by Gerald H Simbaku (men’s singles-SU5), Gladys Grace (women’s singles-SL3), Rahim Tinggal/Shah Rizan Daud (men’s doubles-SU5) and
Heaven Glory Grace Didin with Ahmed Shahputra Abd Rahim from Perak (mixed doubles-SH6).
The bronze medallists were Jerald Jaudy (men’s singles-SL3), Asrun Mahadi (men’s singles-SL3) and Heaven Glory/Gladys Grace (women’s doubles-SH6).
