Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Immigration Officers Service Union (KPPIS) paid a courtesy visit to the Sabah Law Society (SLS) as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and safeguard the interests of its members.
The KPPIS delegation was led by its president, Azizah S Ahmad and received by SLS president Datuk Mohamed Nazim Maduarin together with members of the society’s executive committee.
KPPIS said the meeting reflected the union’s ongoing commitment to protecting members’ rights through four key resolutions and objectives, including strengthening strategic ties and establishing sustainable cooperation between both parties.
Azizah said the union also sought professional legal views and advice from SLS, particularly on matters involving the rights and protection of workers in the government sector.
She added that the visit also aimed to create an effective information-sharing network to enhance understanding between the scope of work of the Immigration Department and the legal expertise possessed by SLS.
