LOS ANGELES: Anne Hathaway has been named World’s Most Beautiful by People magazine, reflecting on a decades-long struggle with awkwardness before finding confidence in her late 30s.
The 43-year-old said she endured “the longest unbroken awkward phase in Hollywood”, recalling anxiety with communication and early difficulties expressing herself.
Hathaway also shared past beauty missteps, saying she once struggled to articulate styling preferences and spent years requesting hairstyles that did not match her expectations until she began using reference images.
The actress, known for The Princess Diaries, has five films slated for release this year, including The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Verity.
She also credited her husband, Adam Shulman, for his support, describing him as “the most extraordinary person I’ve ever met”, adding that they “work well together” as parents to their two sons.
