UMS partners with Kosovo’s Pristina University

KOTA KINABALU: Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) has forged a strategic partnership with the University of Pristina, Kosovo, through a recent academic visit.

The visit featured Associate Professor Ts Dr Nur Fadilah Darmansah, a lecturer from the Built Environment Programme at the Faculty of Engineering (FKJ) UMS, who was invited to deliver an academic lecture at the University of Pristina.

This invitation not only highlights UMS’s expertise in the built environment field but also creates new opportunities to expand the university’s international network globally.

Fadilah said the collaborative network is expected to significantly impact UMS’s academic and research development, reinforcing the university’s position as an institution actively involved in the internationalisation of higher education.

She further explained that, beyond the lecture, the visit provided an important platform to enhance collaboration between the two institutions.

Discussions were held with several related faculties at the University of Pristina, including the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, and Faculty of Architecture.

“Discussions focused on potential collaborations in areas such as student mobility programmes, joint publications, research initiatives, and the organisation of joint academic conferences in the future,” Fadilah said.

She added, “This visit also reflects UMS’s ongoing commitment to strengthening international strategic relations and increasing opportunities for high-impact collaborations.”
