Kota Kinabalu: Three vehicles were damaged after a car wash attendant lost control of a Toyota Fortuner, sending it careering into parked cars at the Innoprise Corporation premises here Monday.
The incident, which happened at around 10.10am, involved a Perodua Myvi, Proton Saga and Perodua Bezza, all parked properly in designated bays, when the Fortuner being washed by staff suddenly accelerated and ploughed into them.
The three affected vehicles are believed to belong to State civil servants working at the premises at the time of the incident.
It is understood the car wash attendant lost control of the Fortuner while carrying out cleaning work on the vehicle, though the exact cause of the sudden acceleration has yet to be confirmed.
In a separate incident, two vehicles collided at a junction in front of a Starbucks outlet in Kolombong on Monday, injuring two people.
A Perodua Bezza, which was making a U-turn in front of the Starbucks outlet, collided with a Ford Ranger travelling from Plaza 333 towards Kolombong at around 1.55pm.
The Bezza’s right side sustained damage, while the Ford Ranger’s front was damaged in the impact.
The Bezza was driven by a 31-year-old woman, while the Ford Ranger was driven by a 36-year-old man, who had his wife with him at the time of the incident.
