KUNAK: A new Sabah State Library (PNS) branch in Kunak worth over RM6 million remains unopened despite being completed seven months ago.
Kunak assemblyman Datuk Seri Anil Sandhu urged immediate operation, stressing the library’s role as a key public learning and information hub.
He said delays were reportedly due to unresolved utility matters like water and electricity, but questioned why such issues persist months after completion.
He plans to inspect the site and push for swift resolution, joking he would bring his own table and lights if needed.
The project had earlier been delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the existing library continues to operate from a rented commercial premises.
