Kota Kinabalu: Invest Sabah Berhad (ISB) has appointed Kevin Ukang as its new Chief Executive Officer as the state investment promotion agency enters a new phase of leadership and strategic focus.
Kevin, who brings extensive experience in investment promotion and economic development, will lead the organisation’s efforts to strengthen Sabah’s investment ecosystem while enhancing the agency’s role as the state’s One-Stop Investment Facilitation Centre.

Chairman Datuk Roger Chin said the appointment reflects the Board’s commitment to strengthening Invest Sabah’s institutional capacity as it promotes the state as an attractive destination for domestic and international investors.
“Kevin brings valuable experience in investment promotion and economic development. His appointment reflects our commitment to further strengthening Sabah’s investment ecosystem and enhancing Invest Sabah’s effectiveness as the State’s principal investment promotion agency,” he said in a statement.
The appointment comes as Invest Sabah completes an internal governance review conducted by the Sabah State Internal Audit Department.
The review, which has been submitted to the Chief Minister, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship, and aimed to strengthen the organisation’s administrative processes and operational procedures.
According to ISB, the review provided constructive recommendations to further enhance documentation, administrative procedures and internal governance practices.
Chin said the Board has accepted the recommendations and has begun implementing measures to strengthen transparency, accountability and operational effectiveness.
“The Board views this review as a constructive process that supports Invest Sabah’s commitment to continuous improvement and good governance as we carry out our mandate as Sabah’s principal investment promotion agency,” he said.
The Board also recorded its appreciation for the contributions of previous leadership and management in developing Invest Sabah Berhad as the state’s investment promotion agency.
He added that with a refreshed board of directors and new leadership, Invest Sabah will place greater emphasis on proactive investment promotion, investor facilitation and stronger governance practices as it supports Sabah’s economic growth and development agenda.
