The council described the collaboration as a historic milestone in advancing Sabah’s role in the evolving energy landscape, noting that the industry is becoming increasingly complex and technology-driven.
SOGSC said the biennial conference will invite international and local industry leaders and investors to showcase their technologies and capabilities, creating a strategic platform where global expertise can merge with local talent to strengthen the energy ecosystem.
The event also supports the State Government’s aspiration to achieve a 60 per cent local content agenda in contract awards, with SOGSC committed to facilitating partnerships between international and local players to meet the target.
According to the council, such collaborations will enable technological transfer to local companies, expand market opportunities for Sabah-based entrepreneurs and generate broader economic spillover through quality, high-income jobs.
SOGSC said it looks forward to discussions on the Five-Year OGSE Sabah Roadmap (2026–2030), describing it as a blueprint for long-term capacity building to ensure Sabah not only participates in the energy sector but emerges as a sustainable and investor-friendly hub.
