The mission is led by SCCC YE Chairman Hong Jia Hao, marking the first time he heads the delegation since assuming the role.
The initiative continues efforts previously led by SCCC YE founding chairman Chiew Heng Hock, who over the past three years organised similar visits to major economic cities in China to strengthen international business exchanges.
During the visit, the delegation will travel to Guangzhou and Jiangmen in Guangdong Province and participate in the 32nd China International Exhibition on Packaging Machinery & Materials (Sino-Pack 2026), themed “Smart Packaging for Now and Future”.
Participants will attend the exhibition, corporate visits and business matching sessions aimed at gaining insights into developments in smart manufacturing, packaging technology and industrial upgrading.
The programme also includes participation in the 4th Jiangmen Coffee Culture Festival 2026 themed “World Coffee • Gathering in Jiangmen”, scheduled from March 5 to 8 at Wuyi Overseas Chinese Plaza.
The festival is expected to promote exchanges in coffee culture and related industries while strengthening business cooperation between Malaysian and Chinese enterprises in the food and coffee sectors.
SCCC President Datuk Frankie Liew serves as Honorary Chief Delegate, while SCCC Vice President Chiew Heng Hock acts as Chief Planner for the mission.
Deputy coordinators for the delegation are Liew Vui Shing, Desmond Hsiu Wei Peng and Kevin Chin, with Lily Phua as secretary, Lee Shi Ping as programme coordinator and Aifei Lee handling finance.
Alastair Fong Yung Shyang oversees souvenirs, Alan Wong Bak Wei is publicity head and transportation arrangements are handled by Luke Liew Kit Siong.
Hong said SCCC YE will continue implementing the “Going Out, Bringing In” strategy to strengthen links with business associations and enterprises in China.
He said the initiative aims to promote resource integration and bilateral cooperation while creating wider opportunities for Sabah’s young entrepreneurs to expand internationally.
