KOTA KINABALU: Rebranding Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) ahead of the next parliamentary election could strengthen its electoral strategy, said Pantai Manis PGRS divisional chief Datuk Seri Abdul Rahim Ismail.
He said aligning party divisions with Sabah’s parliamentary constituencies would simplify the leadership structure, reducing the current 73 divisions to 25 while strengthening parliamentary-level strategy and consolidating leadership control.

Rahim added that such a move could also project a more strategic and less bureaucratic image while reducing internal factionalism.
On the Papar division leadership, he said he would support any decision by Chief Minister and PGRS president Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, but hoped Kawang divisional chief Datuk Seri Ghulam Haidar Khan Bahadar would be considered, citing his strong showing in the recent state election.
