He said Aidilfitri is not merely a celebration marking the end of a month of fasting but also an opportunity to foster closer ties among family members, neighbours and friends regardless of background.

In his Hari Raya Aidilfitri message, he stressed that mutual respect and understanding must continue to be nurtured to preserve social harmony, especially in Sipitang, which is known for its diverse cultures and traditions.
Matbali, who is also Malaysian Cocoa Board Chairman, urged the public to visit relatives and friends they have not met for a long time while remembering the underprivileged so the joy of Aidilfitri can be shared by all.
He also advised those returning to their hometowns to ensure their vehicles are in good condition, plan their journeys carefully and avoid driving while fatigued, while extending festive greetings and seeking forgiveness, particularly from residents in the Sipitang parliamentary constituency.
