CHINA: An East Malaysia team returned with high honours at the 2026 World Coffee Blending Championship (WCBC) Global Finals held in Guangzhou and Jiangmen, Guangdong in here from March 5 to 8.
The delegation representing Sabah and Sarawak was jointly organised by the Borneo Coffee Alliance under the Federation of Sabah Industries and the Sabah-China Chamber of Commerce.
Three coffee blenders represented Malaysia at the global competition, namely Ivershaun Voo and Vivian Liew from Sabah, and Angie Liaw from Sarawak.
Ivershaun Voo achieved a major breakthrough by winning a Gold Award in the “Best Americano Blend” category.
Borneo Coffee Alliance chairman Dick Lee said the achievement highlights the standards of East Malaysia’s coffee industry while promoting Borneo’s coffee culture internationally and strengthening Malaysia-China industry exchanges.
