Kota Kinabalu: The Election Court on Thursday dismissed an election petition filed by Warisan candidate Terence Au Soon Fui challenging Gabungan Rakyat Sabah’s (GRS) victory in the Tanjong Kapor state seat.
High Court Judge Amelati Parnell made the decision after allowing preliminary objections raised by Tanjong Kapor Assemblyman Datuk Chong Chen Bin and two other respondents.
Au named Chong, the Tanjong Kapor Returning Officer and the Election Commission (EC) as the first, second and third respondents respectively in the petition.
Amelati ordered the petitioner to pay RM20,000 in costs to Chong and RM10,000 to the second and third respondents.
Chong won the 11-cornered contest for the Tanjong Kapor seat with 6,171 votes in the Sabah 17th general election on Nov 29, 2025.
