Kota Kinabalu: The concept of a “Community with a Shared Future for Mankind” is deeply rooted in Chinese culture and embodies the wisdom passed down through millennia of Chinese civilization.
Laozi was the first philosopher of Daoism (Taoism) and the author of the Daodejing that also has influence on the development of China’s Buddhist credo. Laozi is venerated as a philosopher by Confucians. Zhuangzi is the second most influential writer in Daoism.
Prof. Yin Zhihua revealed this at the “Confucian – Islamic Civilizational Dialogue,” themed: ‘Strengthening Exchange and Mutual Learning between Confucian and Islamic Civilization for World Peace and Development’”, recently.
The event was co-organised by the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and Minzu University of China’s School of Philosophy and Religious Studies. Prof Yin is the Dean of the School of Philosophy and Religious Studies of Minzu University.
