Tenom: A 61-year-old man was found dead in a drain near the front of the Alliance Bank building in Tenom town, at 8.50am, on Friday.

Tenom District Police Chief, Supt. Azmir B. Abd. Razak, said Marais Bin Morris, is believed to have fallen from the pedestrian bridge nearby.

The initial report was made by a witness, after which a friend of the victim came forward at the Tenom Police Station to lodge an official report.

Preliminary investigations by the police revealed no criminal elements and inquiries are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident.

Members of the public are advised to exercise caution when passing through bridge and drain areas in Tenom town.
