PENAMPANG: A 17-year-old girl was involved in a distress incident at the fifth floor of Megalong Mall in Donggongon on Friday evening.

The Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 5.19pm and personnel from the Penampang station arrived at the scene three minutes later.

Six firefighters were deployed to the location, about one kilometre from the station, following reports that the girl was attempting to jump from the building.

Firefighters and police were at the scene attempting to persuade the teenager as operations continued.
