KOTA MARUDU: Two students from Advent Secondary School (SMA) Goshen recorded excellent achievements in recent Kota Marudu District School Sports Council (MSSD) 2026 Archery Championship when Oweana Geozelle Paulai emerged as the champion in the Under-18 Girls category, while Clarabell Manuel was runner-up in the Under-15 Girls category.
The success thus qualified both athletes to represent MSSD Kota Marudu to the Sabah MSSS Championship scheduled to be held in Lahad Datu this May.
The school expressed pride in the achievement and hoped that both students would continue to maintain their excellent performance and bring glory to the name of SMA Goshen at the State level.
Archery at the school level in Malaysia is an actively growing sport supported by the National Archery Association of Malaysia (NAAM) and the Ministry of Education, aiming to foster talent for competitions like the Malaysia Schools Sports Council (MSSM) Games.

A traditional archery circuit programme is being introduced in schools to promote local heritage, with efforts underway to include it in official MSSM and Sukma Games.
