Kota Kinabalu: The Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) Sabah successfully concluded its 2026 Annual Ball, “Timeless Elegance · A Night of Brilliance.” Founding President cum First President Datuk Lau Kok Sing expressed high praise for the event, describing it as not only a successful occasion, but also a significant milestone that “brings people together and reflects vision and stature.”
He shared that being present at the event allowed him to deeply feel the atmosphere and thoughtful planning behind the evening—from stage presentation and programme curation to culinary arrangements, and from cultural expression to the overall guest experience.
All elements demonstrated exceptional standards and meticulous planning, reflecting the chamber’s maturity and strength in organisation and execution.
“This is not merely a gala, but a manifestation of spirit,” he said. He noted that through the integration of culture and the arts, “Timeless Elegance · A Night of Brilliance” brought people closer together and further strengthened the bond between Malaysia and China through meaningful exchange.
He particularly commended the event’s thoughtful cultural curation, highlighting how the depth of Chinese opera and the vibrancy of local indigenous culture complemented one another on the same stage, creating a rare and powerful cultural resonance.
Such cross-cultural fusion, he added, not only enriched the experience but also underscored the chamber’s unique role in promoting cultural exchange.
Reflecting on the chamber’s journey, Datuk Lau expressed a sense of pride and fulfilment in witnessing its current achievements.“From its humble beginnings to where it is today—bringing together outstanding entrepreneurs and people from various sectors—this growth has not come easily,” he said.
He further noted that the gala not only demonstrated the chamber’s cohesion and influence, but also reflected the new generation team’s innovation and breakthroughs in planning and execution. “It is clear that in terms of vision, perspective, and attention to detail, the standard has reached a new level.”
Looking ahead, he expressed hope that the chamber will continue to uphold its core values of unity, collaboration, and development—building on its existing foundation, strengthening its role as a bridge, and advancing more high-quality Malaysia–China exchanges and collaborations.

He believes that with such a strong foundation and momentum, MCCC Sabah will continue to grow steadily, reach greater heights, and achieve even more remarkable milestones in the future.
