The Spaniard emphasised the importance of collaboration from all involved.
“My focus now is to get to know the players better and ensure they understand the ideas and philosophy that we want to implement. It is important for everyone to move in the same direction.”
He is looking forward to the match against Negeri Sembilan FC, and acknowledged the challenges posed by a well-structured opponent with a mix of experience composed of both local and imported players.
“They are a well-rounded team of experienced players. They also have a good structure and are in positive momentum. I expect a tough match,” he said.
While refusing to reveal his tactical plans for the match, he assured fans that the team’s performance will speak for itself.
He also called upon the supporters to fill the stadium and rally behind the players.
“The presence of supporters is very important to boost the players’ morale. We want to start this phase on the right foot,” he added.
This will be the second meeting between the two teams. Earlier in the season, Sabah FC were well beaten 0-3 by Negeri Sembilan FC at their own turf.
Sabah FC are currently sitting at 11th position in the standings with a total of 14 points from three wins, five draws, and seven losses, while Negeri Sembilan FC are positioned two places above in ninth place with 17 points, having managed four wins, five draws, and seven losses, but they have played one more match.
