Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Electricity (SE) has channeled RM60,000 in Zakat Wakalah funds benefiting 250 individuals comprising students and asnaf (underprivileged) groups from around the State Capital.
Of the total, 100 students were from Kolej Teknologi Yayasan Sabah (KTYS) and University College Sabah Foundation (UCSF), while the remaining 150 recipients comprised eligible asnaf groups, including institutions such as Ma’ahad Tahfiz Miftahul Ulum Tanjung Aru and Masjid Sembulan.
The contributions were presented by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Musa Aman, and his wife, Toh Puan Faridah Tussin, during a breaking-of-fast event, ‘Majlis Seikhlas Budi Sesuci Ramadan’, held at a leading hotel here on Monday.
The initiative reflects SE’s continued commitment to assisting the underprivileged, particularly during the month of Ramadan, in support of the well-being and welfare of the local community.
Also present were Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor and his wife Datin Seri Juliah Salag, Deputy Chief Minister II Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, and SE Chairperson Saadiah Aziz.
