A MAN in Kedah had a close call while breaking his fast after discovering a metal screw inside a pulut panggang he bought at a Ramadan bazaar.

He said he felt something hard in his mouth while eating the pulut udang and realised it was a screw when he bit down, adding that he was fortunate to notice it in time and avoid choking.
He noted that while there have been reports of small items such as staple wires found in food, coming across a screw was far more serious and urged bazaar traders to be more careful to protect customers.
Many viewers expressed shock and concern in the comments, with some suggesting the screw could have come from a coconut-grating machine and the man hoping his experience would prompt food sellers to check their equipment and uphold proper safety standards.
