Although the pastries appeared larger and more layered, many users said traditional curry puffs are typically sold between RM0.50 and RM1.50.
Some compared the prices to those at a restaurant in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI), claiming even the higher-end versions there did not match bazaar rates.
Other social media posts highlighted concerns over prices at various Ramadan bazaars, including claims that
ayam golek was being sold for up to RM60 per piece.
The same post listed curry puffs at RM10, murtabak at RM10 each, chicken john roti at RM20, meat dishes at RM25, small drinks at RM8 and large drinks at RM15.
Several members of the public described the prices as unreasonable and said the increases during Ramadan were burdensome for consumers.
One user said the prices were not reasonable and suggested cooking at home instead, while another questioned the rise in murtabak prices from RM5 last year to RM10, and another user remarked that it might be preferable to break fast at a restaurant rather than at a bazaar this year.
