NABAWAN: The construction of the Nabawan District Police Headquarters (IPD), scheduled for completion in 2029, reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring the continued security and well-being of the local community.
Nabawan Assemblyman Datuk Abdul Ghani Mohamed Yassin said the project would enhance the operational efficiency of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) while improving policing services for residents in this border district neighbouring Indonesia.
“All works are currently progressing smoothly and we hope the project will remain on schedule so that security can be further strengthened in this district, given its proximity to the Indonesian international border,” he said when met at the dividend distribution ceremony for participants of the Nabawan West Region Plantation Scheme at the LKTNS office here.
He added that the new IPD would upgrade the district’s policing system, as all matters presently have to be referred to the Keningau IPD.
The project, funded by the Federal Government, is being built at a strategic location in Nabawan, adjacent to the Nabawan Health Clinic, ensuring easy access for the local community.
“The construction of the IPD is expected to enhance security levels, improve PDRM response times, and boost public confidence in carrying out daily activities in this border area,” he said.
