Sabah Governor Tun Musa Aman officiated the ceremony.
Hajiji said the continued organisation of the annual religious event reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring spiritual and physical development progress in tandem to achieve balance in worldly and spiritual affairs.
He said the assembly also serves as a platform to produce Qari, Qariah, Hafiz and Hafizah who excel in recitation and memorisation while becoming role models for society, adding that the government remains committed to facilitating initiatives related to Islamic education, tahfiz institutions and programmes to strengthen Islamic values.
Hajiji said the State Government has allocated RM672.05 million under the Green Sustainability component of the SMJ 2.0 Development Plan for biodiversity protection, environmental conservation and climate change response, with a commitment to achieve 30 per cent total protected areas by 2030.
