PENAMPANG: Inobong Parti Warisan District Election Coordinator Simon Peter called on the State Government and local authorities to immediately address drainage issues at Kampung Kolopis, citing concerns over public safety and potential flood risks linked to ongoing Pan Borneo Highway construction.
He said regular monitoring of drainage systems in the area is necessary to reduce flash flood risks, particularly during the monsoon season.
“Soboong Kolopis residents have raised concerns regarding drainage along the village road which they believe is not functioning effectively,” Simon said following a site visit on Wednesday.
He said the team observed stagnant water in drains, suggesting impeded water flow requiring maintenance attention.
