The remaining lion heads will be handed over to troupes in Sandakan, Tawau, Lahad Datu and Semporna.
Yee said the contribution would help ease equipment shortages, enabling teams to remain active in performances while sustaining their operations.
“The donation represents meaningful assistance to grassroots cultural organisations and is expected to inspire more young people to participate in preserving this valuable tradition.
“The lion dance is an important cultural symbol and contributes to the festive spirit of community events,” she added.
Yee said the Chief Minister remains committed to supporting Sabah’s multi-ethnic heritage and strengthening unity through continued cultural assistance.
Present at the ceremony were Kota Kinabalu community leaders Kapitan Datuk Lim Vun Chan, Kapitan Datuk Fung Chun Fatt, Kapitan Chee Siaw Siaw and Community Development Leader Oliver Majaham.
